You might wonder why a tennis software company like Smashpoint is reviewing tennis racquets. Well, at heart we are tennis fans and nerds. So, when we had the opportunity to attend the Wilson Clash event at the Desert Springs PBI Tennis Club in Palm Desert, CA we jumped on it. Wilson put together a lovely and fun event for tennis fans. WTA pro Nicole Gibbs was on site to talk about her experience switching to the Wilson Clash. She said 2019 has already been a great season for her and she loves the Clash for added power and control on the court. Nicole is stringing her Clash with a Wilson Gut/Luxilon hybrid set up at 49 lb.
Our own play test went really well. We love the new Clash racquet Wilson has put on the market. During the play test, we switched back and forth between the Wilson Pro Staff RF 97 and the Wilson Clash 100 Tour. The Clash provides feel, power and control. We think it is a great racquet for beginners, weekend warriors, and Pros alike. But Pros might want to add a little bit of led to increase swing weight :-). What makes the Clash unique and arm friendly is the low stiffness of 55. Go test one – you won’t be disappointed.
